The First Alberta's Men of Country Music Show 2004!

Some Alberta men were complaining (whining actually) that it wasn't fair to have a show just for the Woman of Country Music and nothing for the men. I've waited four years and no one has taken up the challenge to organize an Alberta Men of Country Music show, so I decided to take it on...

The first annual AMOCM show was awesome with some young up and coming talent and our favorites we see down the road all the time. Dick Damron received the first ever AMOCM Lifetime Achievement Award. Dick who hails from Bentley, Alberta and has never forgotten his roots as he still lives there. (Except for the cold Alberta winters when Mexico gets to enjoy his presence and his talent). He has worked so hard in the music business, written a great many hit songs for others and himself and has many CD's out for our enjoyment. He has also two books, a biography of his life and a novel which he released in 2003.

Glen Rafuse, a real cowhand not the drugstore variety , opened the show with some real true to life cowboy poetry which is where many traditional songs originated from. he is one of the few remaining founders of the ACPA, Alberta Cowboy Poetry Association. He is a true country gentleman and a friend to so many. Be sure to pick up a copy of Glen's new book of Cowboy Poetry.

Mike Prusak, is a wonderful sound man, without him the AWOCM, AMOCM, and all the Cowboy gatherings I have put on would now be as good as they are. He is a wonderful Bluegrass Gospel singer/songwriter and with his crew goes under the name of "Joshua Ridge". He has been performing for years. Joshua Ridge now has two CD's for your listening pleasure. Mike has written most of the material on these productions.

Les Welsh, has always been a lover of Country Music and he is loved for his unique style wherever he goes. Pick up one of his CD's as well.

Brett Kissel is a young 14 year old singing sensation from St Paul, Alberta. What can we say except that he has been raised right, he loves country music, he's very polite, respects his elders and can two step pretty good already, (so the girls have told me!!!) He also has a great voice and can really play the guitar and the banjo too. His CD is a hot seller wherever he goes

Tim Rustle is an electrician who's first love has always been country music. With his great country look and his husky vibrant voice, I expect he will go far. He has a demo CD out. Give it a listen Merle Haggard is one of his role models.

Jess Fowler is a 15 year old Cochrane cowboy who loves to campfire sing and has completed in the Country Vocal spotlight, performed at the Stony Plain Cowboy Poetry Gathering and many other venues and I was happy to have him on my first show.

Latigo is from Cochrane as well. the group was formed in 2000 and have been busy since. Their CD is full of traditional cowboy songs about real cowboys and real ranching stories. Their CD is a must to buy.

Aaron Jake Goodvin, What can I say about him? He has been a constant performer since day one. He only gets better. Now with his band "Fast Lane" . He will be topping the charts one day. He has so much energy and charisma on stage that you fall in love with him right away and he is the same off stage. Aaron was first runner up in the Country Vocal Spotlight Talent Contest in 2003.

ALBERTA'S MEN OF COUNTRY MUSIC 2005

Another great show was held in 2005 Bev Munroe received the  AMOCM Lifetime Achievement Award. He has been so influential in the Country music industry as a radio DJ and a singer songwriter and musician. He is enjoying his retirement singing and playing as part of The Legends of Country Music Show. There were many other great artists on the show as well.
